Our facility is the first of its kind in California. It has been established on the campus of the UCI Medical Center and partners with world class radiologists, surgeons and oncologists to offer comprehensive breast care. Utilizing the world’s first and only dedicated breast MRI system, Aurora Breast MRI of Orange County offers the most sensitive diagnostic tool in the fight against breast cancer available today. Dr. Stephen Feig

Dr. Stephen Feig, UCI Medical Center's new director of breast imaging, is nationally and internationally recognized for his leadership in clinical mammography, breast imaging research and advocacy of screening. At UCI, he offers his expertise in diagnostic mammography, breast ultrasound and MRI, as well as breast interventional procedures including ultrasound-guided and stereotactic breast biopsies and pre-operative wire localizations. Board certified in radiology, Feig comes to UCI from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. He has received numerous awards and honors, including the Gold Medal from the Society of Breast Imaging in 2003, which credited his many scientific papers with helping to determine how breast imaging is practiced today.

Dr Joan Marshall

Dr. Joan Marshall

Dr. Joan Marshall, Women’s Imaging Director at UCI, has been on staff for 9 years. She has spoken on breast health awareness in Orange County and is a quality control mammography reviewer for the American College of Radiology. Her expertise includes diagnostic mammography, ductography, breast ultrasound and breast MRI. In addition, she is an accomplished breast interventionalist having performed many ultrasound guided and stereotactic core biopsies as well as pre-operative wire-needle localizations. She received her medical degree at University of California , San Diego School of Medicine followed by residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital and finished with a Women’s Imaging Fellowship at University of Colorado Health Sciences .
