My prior breast MRI was very unpleasant, as I was on an uncomfortable table and head rest, and I couldn’t move for about one and a half hours. My back and neck were in spasm after the first 15 minutes. There was no music, and the only interruption was when the nurse came in to give me the IV and tell me I had about 20 minutes left.
After this experience, you can see why I was not looking forward to this again! Well, when I came to Aurora breast MRI, I was greeted by two charming people who made me feel welcome and cared about. I filled out some paperwork and was assisted by the young lady since I am deaf. I was soon introduce to Ronnie, the MRI technician. She was very careful to explain everything, then noticed that I had a Port-a-Cath inserted in my chest. She immediately became concerned that any metal in the Port-a-Cath would be affected by the magnet and could shift in position. She and the Aurora staff were very diligent in contacting my doctors to verify that the MRI could be safely done. I really appreciated Ronnie’s concern for my safety. The test was very quickly and comfortably.
You are to be commended for hiring expert staff who are also “tuned in” with the emotions of the patients and the special medical needs they may have. Aurora is the only breast MRI I want from now on!
